Vienna in the History of Urology

The academic reputation of Vienna as an influential urology centre arose from the in-depth knowledge and excellence of its surgeons - Leopold von Dittel, Joseph Englisch and Otto Zuckerkandl amongst many others. Already in the mid-nineteenth century Vienna was known for its innovations and education in the field of urological procedures, attracting scientists and medical students from all over the world.
