From craft painter to startup CEO: Aurélien de Nunzio takes the Algar further

The electronic platform, which was established in 2016, supports its clients in obtaining permits to undertake housing projects. The solution that now extends to the construction and renovation professionals presented by the Foundation towards a promising future.

Housing is a world that no longer holds any secrets for Aurelien Di Nunzio, who at the age of 16 was already working as a decorator. Along with resuming studies in building economics, the young man noticed a real need among individuals to accompany them in often arduous urban planning procedures. This is how he launched Let Me Build which will become Algar, a platform to support his clients on this journey and for which he trains himself in various aspects of business development.

While pursuing his Bachelor of Commerce at EDHEC Lille, Aurélien De Nunzio continued to boost his startup which joined the EuraTechnologies accelerator program after an initial fundraising of €400,000 in 2017.

The new name adopted in 2021 – an anagram of “grail” – seems to fit nicely with the mission of the company which today has around twenty employees three fundraisers later, no less than 1,500 people with building closer to Algar each month .

Real-time monitoring of file progress, access to documents, privileged exchanges with the Algar team … The services offered by Algar are subject to constant innovation. As a result, projects of extension, facade modification or even swimming pool installation projects are carried out more quickly.

“The 100% online experience we offer is unprecedented in France. We’ve pushed things too far and continue to do it every day, combining technology, automation and processes to offer the best possible service,” explains Aurélien De Nunzio.

This development establishes the startup as a real expert in the procedures related to obtaining planning permission (building permit, pre-declaration of work, etc.). So much so that in 2022, the solution will be open to professionals • Photovoltaic installers, home builders or even swimming pool specialists – who are often themselves caught up in these administrative issues for their clients.

Fundraising of 3.2 million euros to invest in BtoB

This BtoB version is made possible by the fundraising obtained from the EDF Group: “With Algar PRO we want to allow professionals to dedicate themselves to their profession without wasting time on heavy organizational procedures” confirms Aurélien De Nunzio. A display that makes sense in the current energy crisis as solar panel installations and thermal insulation from the outside increase. With this starting point, Aurélien De Nunzio also wants to develop complementary models to drive further support of his clients towards the realization of their dreams, in particular by offering trusted craftsmen or funding for their work.
