Mike Perry issued an alleged deal to box with Jake Paul in February

Mike Perry has made no secret of his desire to field Jake Paul. But it wasn’t until 2023 when he claimed that wish was fulfilled in the decade.

Perry posted what he claimed was a deal to Angel Paul in eight rounds of three minutes at an event on February 18, 2023 (or other date chosen by Paul’s promoter). He summoned the YouTuber-turned-boxer to step down from their fight.

Paul’s promotion company, Most Valuable Promotions, acknowledged a request for comment but did not immediately respond when contacted by MMA Fighting. The authenticity of Perry’s alleged contract could not be independently confirmed and he did not respond to a request for comment from his current promoter, BKFC.

Perry’s relationship with Paul extends into the career of the young influencer/martial arts boxer. Gear up for a fight with Screen Ben, and Paul and his team have hired Perry as their sparring partner for $100 a round. He later posted a video of Perry saying, “You kicked my ass, Jake.” Perry did not take this step kindly and called out Paul in several interviews, saying he was being taken advantage of.

Later, Perry softened his attitude towards Paul and targeted the YouTuber’s training partner, middleweight boxer J’Leon Love. But after defeating Bellator at welterweight, Michel called Big Bull to confrontation in the ring.

Paul said last November that his next fight would be in February, and the bids were extended to three potential opponents. He did not name them, but publicly praised the fight with UFC superstar Nate Diaz, who became a free agent at the same time he began searching for opponents. Diaz and Paul teamed up behind the scenes in Paul’s previous boxing match, where they met former UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva, which ended in a unanimous decision victory.

Perry fought in the UFC for five years and had many exciting and bloody fights before a slip led him to request his release from contract. Then he signed with BKFC and defeated Julien Lin and Page.
