Travel to Paris with a music series at Maple Ridge

The ACT Center for the Arts in Maple Ridge invites guests to travel to Paris, France.

Midnight in Paris It will take listeners from the Middle Ages to the modern era through three French composers: Marine Marais from the Baroque era; the Impressionist composer Claude Debussy; And Gabriel immediate who was the link between the two eras.

Violinist David Gilham, accompanied by Marina Thibault on viola, Eric Wilson on cello and David Fong on piano, will present a classic afternoon.

They will perform: Five Old French Dances for Viola and Piano by Marsh Sonata for Cello and Piano. 135 from 1915 by Debussy; Sonata for Violin and Piano L140 from 1917 by Debussy; And Piano Quartet No. 1 in C minor, Op. 15 by Faure.

The Sunday Chamber Music Series will take audiences on a journey around the world from New York to Paris, from the Renaissance to the modern era.

Gilham, who oversees the series, is a noted soloist, chamber musician, and violin teacher at the University of British Columbia.

The concert will take place Sunday, April 16th at 3pm at the Mainstage Theater in the ACT Arts Center, 11944 Haney Place.

The price is $25 plus expenses and the party will last about 90 minutes, with an intermission of 20 minutes.
