while the upcoming Google I/O event is expected to feature the price-conscious Pixel 7a, based on the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro launched last year. The next major smartphone update from Google is coming to Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.
Slashleaks has released details of two protective cases for Google’s new smartphones. These confirm the previously leaked physical sizes of the phones. They highlight two design decisions made by the Mountain View team.
The first is changes to the camera band and lens cover, moving to a single, longer bead shape to house the main lenses, rather than the separate display on the Pixel 7 Pro. or the solid stripe on the Pixel 6 Pro. The second is the change of turns, with a rounded look that arrives on the podium.
Looking at the leaked details on the screen size, we can extrapolate. You can also extrapolate the slimmest bezel size by looking at the case dimensions. While unclear, the cases match leaked details of Google’s move to a flat screen for the Pixel Pro.
The two new Pixel devices are expected to be announced in late summer, along with Google’s third-generation Mobile Tensor chips under the alias Tensor G3.
