Last week, Lee Young Hee, head of Samsung DX Global Marketing Center, confirmed that the next Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event will be held in Seoul, South Korea. Young-hee didn’t reveal the location of the event, but today Samsung sent out a press note to the media, confirming that Galaxy Unpacked will be hosted in Seoul at the COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam, because “this unique place offers the world an opportunity to experience a captivating blend of the past, present and future that defines Seoul.
Since its first Unpacked event in 2010 in Las Vegas, Samsung has hosted its Global Unpacked event in major cities around the world, including Barcelona, Berlin, London, and New York. And with the upcoming Unpacked event in Seoul, Samsung will shift its focus to Unpacked for foldable devices to “focus on various prominent cultural cities around the world that closely match each event’s specific theme.”
Samsung says Seoul was chosen “because of its role in influencing global trends with its vibrant culture and innovation, while reflecting Samsung’s strong belief in the foldable category.”
Although Samsung did not reveal the names of the products it will unveil at this Galaxy Unpacked, it has confirmed that it will unveil its next-gen foldable devices at the event, i.e. Galaxy Z Fold5 and Galaxy Z Flip5.
The Korean group also said that Galaxy Unpacked will take place in the last week of July, which partly supports the rumors of the event taking place on July 26.
