Eat delicious sandwiches for a good cause at Crunchy Mister’s Pop-up

by admin

Who doesn’t like a sandwich? Many people would gladly line up to get a good one, but what happens when one of the best chefs in town cooks it up and sells it for a good cause? I had Mr. Crunchy Sandwiches, which will be back in its next edition June 27-28 at Le Magasin des Prairies.

Created by Garrett Martin (formerly Culinary Director of Concord Entertainment Group for restaurants like… gros matou and Colombier), Crunchy Mister’s is a charity pop-up restaurant serving sandwiches with a French accent. One of the things that makes Crunchy Mr. Specials are elevated Martin food, with sandwiches like the lobster roll with brown butter sauce instead of the typical melted butter, or the Norman fried chicken sandwich with apples and melted cheese atop crispy fried chicken.

The pop-up also features cocktails and wines from Nathan Wry (the main bar at Major Tom and Barbarelle) and Andrew Stewart (Vin au Vin).

Crunchy Mister’s will appear at the Prairie Emporium on June 27 and 28 from 5-9 p.m. and will be available for indoor or outdoor dining. All proceeds from the pop-up go to the Alberta Cancer Foundation.
