WhatsApp is working on filters to help you find important chats in seconds

by admin

Despite the emergence of several instant messaging platforms, WhatsApp has managed to maintain its position at the top of the pack. Wide accessibility, cool features and constant updates are some of the crucial factors that can contribute to the popularity of WhatsApp. To further improve the user experience, WhatsApp is now preparing to fix the filter feature issue.

According to a report by WhatsApp update tracker WabetaInfo, the Meta-owned instant messaging app may be working on a new feature to help you filter your chat list. Found in Latest WhatsApp Beta Update for Android 2.23.14.17 from Google Play Store by WabetaInfo. However, the feature is still under development and will be available at some point in the future.

WhatsApp filter chat list: how will it work?

The report also shared a screenshot indicating that WhatsApp may soon bring a new tool that will help you easily manage your chat list while using filters in a conversation. The feature should be available directly in the chat menu.

Based on the information shared, WhatsApp may have a new button to filter chats based on unread messages, personal chats, and work chats. This clearly indicates that the feature aims to access important chats in seconds while eliminating the need to access a long chat list.

However, at the moment, there is no trace of a dedicated filter for group chats. Having a filter to find all of your group chats somewhere would be a great way to access them. The report indicates that WhatsApp may consider developing this new filter in the future, but there is no guarantee of this yet.

New WhatsApp Features

Meanwhile, WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature – a line with a phone number that aims to help “users easily link their account to an additional device”. How will this work? WabetaInfo reports that you will finally be able to link your account to WhatsApp Web without having to scan a QR code. Currently it is available for some beta testers. However, it might be available to more users in the coming days.
