He began promoting the Francis Ngannou vs. Tyson Fury boxing match.
The WBA heavyweight and heavyweight boxing champ took to social media on Wednesday, trading insults a day after announcing their fight on Oct. 28 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Fury led the charge with another trademark selfie video, telling Ngannou: “You’re a big tough case, you got kicked out. (Dosser is slang for a homeless person).”
In response, Ngannou posted one of the most underrated moments of Fury’s career, a knockdown in his first fight with Deontay Wilder as he was set to a separate draw against The Bronze Bomber.
Ngannou’s booking against Fury lit up the internet on Tuesday after more than a year of calls, verbal duels and promotional interference. Fury initially challenged Ngannou to a boxing match wearing four ounce MMA gloves, putting a wave of pressure on the possibility of the athletic confrontation. But Fury’s boxing career – and Ngannou’s then status as a UFC fighter – prevented the fight from happening.
Former UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou left industry leader as a free agent last December and announced earlier this year the MMA component of his next class as a fighter. But until this week, his dreams of boxing Fury remained that way. The fight with Wilder momentarily seemed closer to happening when the former heavyweight boxing champion appeared at a PFL event and hosted an MMA/boxing swap with The Predator.
At present, it is not known whether Ngannou vs. But this is no longer just a pipe dream, and the heavyweights are doing promotional work ahead.
