Cohen Media Group has unveiled the trailer for Between Two Worlds, a drama directed by acclaimed French novelist and filmmaker Emmanuelle Carrier, and starring Academy Award-winning actress Juliette Binoche.
The film, which had its world premiere on the opening night of Cannes 2021, will be shown in New York and Los Angeles on August 11, followed by a national premiere.
Entre deux mondes is an adaptation of the bestselling non-fiction book The Night Cleaner (“Le Quai de Ouistreham”) by investigative journalist Florence Aubenas.
Binoche plays Marianne Winkler, a journalist (based in Aubenas) who goes undercover to investigate the exploitation of French workers without job security at the height of the economic crisis. After becoming a cleaning lady, she discovers a life of peril and finds herself unseen in society, but also establishes genuine relationships with some of her fellow misfortunes. These friendships are tested when the truth comes out. Binoche earned a César nomination for her performance in the film, which sold out worldwide.
Among the two stars are Hélène Lambert, Lea Karen, Evelyn Poiret, Patricia Prior, Émilie Madeleine, Didier Bobin, Louise Bousica, Steve Papagiannis, Jeremy Lechevalier, Audie Reuter, Nathalie Licorne and Louise Hellyer. Do de Lencquesaing and Charline Bourgeois-Tacquet.
The film is produced by Curiosa Films and Cinéfrance Studios, and will be distributed in France by Memento Distribution.
Cohen Media is also planning a series of tribute films starring Binoche at Cinema Quad August 4-10 prior to the theatrical release of Between Two Worlds.
